New Music!!

Here is some new music from my album”Of Few Words” that drops Feb 25

song is called “Let Me”: God wants nothing more than to have all his children be with him for eternity. He wants us, he sent his son for us, so that we may have a home. Being a Christian isn’t about following rules and regulations; it’s about having a home and spending it with a father who deeply loves you, forever. So let him take you home.

Enjoy!

Hypocrisy

I wrote this sometime last year as encouragement to myself. Guess I was dealing with this issue at that moment and just fell back to reflect about it. I hope this encourages, convicts, and hopefully changes some things for you.

Hypocrisy

We all have to deal with hypocrisy as humans, it doesn’t matter if you are a believer or not. The fact is that we all say one thing and do another.  The issue is not if we are hypocrites but how we deal and come to terms with our own hypocrisy.

What we need to realize is how minuscule the outward really is. Everything that God cares about is from an internal spiritual perspective. Our hypocrisy is a result of our failure to see the importance of a deep, internal, spiritual connection with Christ.

Let’s look at how Jesus talked about hypocrisy in Mathew.

Mathew 6:2

2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. “

Or Mathew 6:16

16 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.”

How many of us just parade and show an outward perception of Christianity, when in reality we are empty and lost inside. Jesus clearly directs us to not live a life like this. It is more than how we pray in public, more than how we give in public, more than how we fast. It is all about that relationship with Christ our Lord.

We must realize that what is inside is undeniably paraded outwardly. Look at Mark 7:20-23 “20 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,”

So it doesn’t matter how spiritual you look, or how much of a Christian you try play out outwardly, everything comes to light from your heart. If you are corrupted inwardly, your outward disposition is the same “corrupt”. This is what I deal with. This is what I; what all of us have to come to terms with. How can we handle this hypocrisy in our life? It may not be played out so visibly, but trust and believe it is there.

Simply, yet so out of any humans character, is to submit completely to the Lord. Submission, to his teaching, to his correction, his leading, and his will. We must also realize as Christians, our sin has been paid for by our faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 “1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

On top of that we can strive to live a life pleasing to God, in that though the penalty of sin has been paid the presence of sin in our lives is still there, yet Christ has made provision for that in our lives. 1 John 1:8-9 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let us all, as Christians, come to the understanding that hypocrisy, and any other sin for that matter, can be dealt with and has been dealt with. We must understand the importance of what Jesus has done in our lives and submit fully to him. Christ has given us the way out, all we need to do is stop pretending and start being.

We are not perfect but through Christ we can overcome. 1 John 5:4-5 “4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

May Gods word, be ever so true in our lives. Amen!
